Emotional Freedom Reiki
EFR is really simple to do. To me, EFR is any healing that combines EFT and Reiki. Since it is the synthesis of these two energy healing systems, obviously the more you know about both systems the more flexibility you'll have in performing EFR. You can experiment and find new ways to combine these tools.
EFR is a great tool to use if you are facilitating an EFT session and want to add some extra "oomph!" Some practitioners will send Reiki to the client while the client is doing normal EFT tapping. This can be done in person or over the phone via distance healing.
Reiki can also be used after the session to "set" the EFT energy and perhaps make it last longer. (As Gary Craig explains, some EFT requires persistence while the energy system is being retrained, particularly in cases of Psychological Reversal.) You can also create "shortcut" techniques that use a combination of Reiki and tapping on a particular point.
I have devised a very simple basic EFR process that can serve as a framework for your self healing sessions, regardless of your Reiki training. I designed this system so ANYONE could use it, even without a Reiki attunsement.
If you are not attuned to Reiki, simply imagine golden healing energy where it's called for. Yes, this will actually send healing energy and you will get better at it with practice. If you are attuned to Reiki, you can use any symbols or system as you feel guided.
You can also use this process with a client either in person over the phone. When doing this from a distance, have the client do the tapping while you send the Reiki energy. The client can also put one hand on the chakra areas (if they are using the other hand to hold the phone).
Here is the basic process. Please review the EFT website at http://www.emofree.com to familiarize yourself with the "tapping" and various points. (You may notice I have added one point, which Richard Ross uses in his EF&H system.)
BASIC EFR PROCESS
Rest your non-dominant hand on the top of your head and imagine golden
healing energy/Reiki energy flowing from the palm of your hand down into
your body through the crown of the skull. Keep your hand here for the remainder
of the tapping.
Rest your dominant hand over your heart chakra to center yourself before
tapping. Tune in to the issue you want to work on. Create a short phrase that
describes this issue, such as "my fear of flying" or "my toothache."
With your non-dominant hand still on the top of your head flowing healing
energy, use your dominant hand for tapping or rubbing the following points:
Sore Spot (rubbing) or Karate Chop (tapping):
Say three times:
"Even though I have <insert issue>, I deeply and completely love and accept
myself."
Hold and take a slow deep breath.
Repeat the short phrase about your issue while tapping on the following points
in order:
I.e., "My fear of flying."
Eyebrow (tap or touch beginning of either eyebrow, nearest the nose)
Side of either eye (tap or rub on the bony part near temple)
Under either eye (tap or rub on the bony part)
Under nose (tap or rub above upper lip)
Crease of chin (tap or rub below lower lip)
Collarbone (tap or rub on inside end, either side)
Under Arm (about 4 inches under the armpit)
Under breast (on the ribcage in line under the nipple)
Now place your dominant hand back over your heart chakra, and tune in again to
see if there's any remaining aspects to the issue. You can repeat the process
above as many times as you like before moving on to the next part.
Now, put your hands on or over the following chakra areas (take your time!!)
while repeating out loud or silently a positive affirmation about the issue,
such as "I am now able to relax and feel safe while being on an airplane":
6th Chakra (Third Eye): Forehead
5th (Throat) Chakra: Neck/throat area
4th (Heart) Chakra: Middle of chest
3rd Chakra (Solar Plexus): Upper part of stomach, right underneath breast area
2nd (Hara) Chakra: Lower part of stomach
1st (Root) Chakra: Pelvic area
The time spent on each area can be as long as you like. Treat it like a
regular Reiki self-healing session. End with both hands on top of head using a
closing prayer or affirmation such as:
"Thank you God/Spirit/etc. for helping me with my healing."
